Shelby County Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports the arrest of David Nathan Lewis and Beverly Kay Hurst, both of Timpson. On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, Sheriff Windham and SCSO deputies completed a narcotics operation at a residence in Timpson.
Intelligence gathered by SCSO investigators led them to believe that a substantial amount of narcotics and firearms were located at Lewis’ residence in Timpson. Due to information obtained, a Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (F-1) warrant was completed and served. As a result of the operation, a felony amount of methamphetamine (917.15 grams or 2.02 pounds) was recovered from the residence along with multiple firearms.
Lewis and Hurst were also in possession of multiple items that had previously been reported stolen. SCSO deputies also extracted a one-year old child from the residence who was being exposed to narcotics and firearms. The child was placed in a safe environment. Lewis is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $295,000 and Hurst is being held on $135,000 bonds.
It is with great pleasure that the SCSO reports this information to the residents of Shelby County. This is the first of many ongoing narcotics investigations with several more to follow. The SCSO recognizes that narcotics are a problem right here at home and we intend to pursue and persevere until our County is as safe as possible.
The SCSO would like to express its sincerest of gratitude to the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers and the Center Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
