Correctional Officer appreciation week starts May the 4th and runs through May the 15th. Being a Correctional Officer is not only a tough job but a rewarding one. On a daily basis they see people not having a good day, and hope that their actions are able to leave a positive mark. Being a Correctional Officer can be very challenging, often they are put in very stressful and dangerous situations. Day after day they demonstrate remarkable courage and professionalism in the face of challenging circumstances. Their tireless efforts to maintain order, uphold regulations, and provide support to those who are detained do not go unnoticed. Their resilience and strength in the line of duty serves as an inspiration to us all. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office wants to extend our gratitude to each and everyone of our Correctional Officers. We appreciate each and everyone of you more than you know.
