Jail Report for June 2021

Jul 6, 2021

This is Sheriff Kevin Windham with a report for June 2021 of things happening at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Our office answered a total of 758 calls for service this month. A total of 40 arrests were made for the county. My deputies made 84 traffic stops; and from those stops, 43 warnings and 41 citations were issued. Our office took a total of 98 reports for the month of June.

I would like to congratulate two of my Corrections Officers on their recent promotions. James Mills was promoted to Corporal. Corporal Mills has been with our office since 2017. John Mills was also promoted to Corporal. Corporal Mills has been with our office since 2019. Our office is grateful for these two men. Corrections Officers are rarely seen, yet their jobs are of the upmost importance. They keep our jail running and we are very appreciative of the work each of them do.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in a Battle of the Badges Blood Drive against the Center Police Department. This event will take place on July 16 at the Community House in Center. We would love your support in helping us contribute to a great cause. Food trucks will be on hand and there will be drawings for great door prizes. All successful donors will receive either a t-shirt or beach towel. We are very excited to be a part of this! For more information about the blood drive or to reserve a time to donate, contact our office and ask to speak with Leah Chase, our Public Relations Director, or email her at leah.chase@co.shelby.tx.us.
